Since I became famous, the hotel’s business has been getting better and better. Many people come to dine here because of my reputation, hoping that the “famous master” can personally recommend dishes for them. The hotel seized this opportunity and launched many new dishes. One of them, “Cheese – fried Shrimp,” was specially developed by me and the head chef in the kitchen. John loves shrimp very much. It’s said that his wife is also crazy about shrimp. Their 20th wedding anniversary is on the 18th of next month, and the celebration banquet will be held in our hotel. And there must be this “Cheese – fried Shrimp.” John’s wife was a well – known stage actress many years ago. It’s said that she’s very beautiful. She rarely goes out these days. If she comes in person, it will definitely attract a large number of old customers.

The big day came. The hotel lobby was specially decorated, and there was a banner saying “Celebrating the 20th Wedding Anniversary of John and Lisa Smith.” At 5 p.m., a small motorcade arrived outside. From afar, we could hear John’s hearty laughter. Unexpectedly, Lisa looked older than John. Her face was very serious, even a bit imposing, cold and unapproachable.

After they were seated, John introduced me to his wife. I bowed politely to Lisa. She seemed very interested in me and stared at me intently for a few moments. She was heavily made – up, but still couldn’t hide the tiredness and aging on her face. She forced a smile and said in a hoarse voice, “John often mentions you at home. We respect professionals very much.” After all, she was an actress. Although her voice was low and hoarse, her intonation was well – modulated, and what she said was just right.

After chatting for a while, I excused myself and went to the kitchen. At 6:30 p.m., the celebration banquet officially began. Eighty guests were in high spirits.

The highlight was of course this “Cheese – fried Shrimp.” I personally carried out the first plate and walked straight up to John and his wife. I bowed slightly and announced, “On behalf of our hotel, I’d like to specially present a new dish – Cheese – fried Shrimp!”

John’s eyes sparkled, and Lisa was also a bit excited. As John and I had agreed in advance, Lisa was the first to taste this dish, and I was there to give a recommendation. At this moment, all the guests in the hall put down their chopsticks and stared eagerly at this legendary dish. I seized this opportunity to show off. I not only fully introduced the flavor characteristics of “Cheese – fried Shrimp,” but also detailed the sources of the main ingredients, auxiliary ingredients, and even the seasonings. Amidst the applause, Lisa gracefully started to eat.

John watched his wife eating the shrimp, and everyone else was also watching, waiting for Lisa to say a “good” word so that they could all enjoy this delicious dish. I stood there waiting, hoping for the guests to be extremely surprised, and hopefully, to remember this for a lifetime.
