Replace the hostage with a blind person chapter 1
by Dominique Patrick### Premeditated
Smith is the boss of a company. Twelve years ago, his five-year-old son, George, accidentally stabbed his eyes while playing and went blind. To help George become independent, Smith sent him to the best blind school in the United States, located in New York. Five years ago, his wife gave birth to a daughter named Evel. However, Evel was diagnosed with severe diabetes from a young age.
Yesterday, Smith’s wife went to New York to pick up George, while Smith stayed at home to handle the company’s business on the computer. He was busy when suddenly the computer lost its internet connection. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t reconnect. Smith quickly called someone to fix it. After waiting for a while and no one showed up, Smith decided to go to the airport first to pick up his wife and son.
He drove out of the villa without noticing that a work van had been hiding in a secluded place. When he was far away, the work van slowly drove towards the villa.
The people in the work van were John and his two partners. John used to be an employee of Smith’s company but was later fired by Smith. Holding a grudge, he found two accomplices, Jones and Gurita, and planned to kidnap five-year-old Evel. Half an hour ago, they cut the network cable leading to Smith’s house. As John expected, Smith called the maintenance department. But Smith didn’t know that the call was answered by John’s partner, Jones. They had tampered with the villa’s phone line.
John sat in the van. Jones and Gurita got out of the van in work uniforms, swaggering with toolboxes in hand. They tricked Smith’s maid into opening the door, then knocked her out immediately and went straight to the bedroom. Smith’s little daughter, Evel, was playing alone. When she saw them, she was so scared that she burst into tears. Jones picked her up and strode out of the villa, throwing her into the work van. John sneered and drove away. The whole kidnapping process took only about ten minutes. Of course, when they left Smith’s house, they didn’t forget to restore the network cable they had damaged. Then they changed to another pre – arranged car and went to a large yard on the outskirts of the city. It was a remote and safe place. They carried Evel into a room, but Evel kept crying loudly. John ignored her and went to another room with his partners.
After a while, estimating that Smith had picked up his son and returned home, John sent an email to Smith, claiming that Evel was in their hands. He ordered Smith to prepare six million dollars in old – fashioned banknotes as ransom and not to call the police. Otherwise, he would kill Evel. After sending the email, Gurita asked worriedly, “Are you sure your boss won’t call the police?”
John glared at him impatiently and said, “I worked under him for two years. Don’t I know what kind of person he is? He values his family more than anything. He’d rather lose his company than let a single hair on his family members’ heads be harmed. You can rest assured. He definitely won’t dare to call the police.”
Soon, Smith replied to the email: “We can talk about other things later. I must tell you something extremely urgent: Evel has severe diabetes and it often flares up. If she’s not rescued in time, she’ll die. Please watch her closely. If she has an attack, there’s a first – aid syringe in her pocket. You must inject it into her immediately, or she’ll be in mortal danger.”
John was shocked when he read Smith’s email. If Evel died, their well – planned kidnapping would be in vain. He rushed into the room where Evel was being held. He was almost stunned – Evel was lying on the ground, twitching violently and looking like she could die at any moment. He let out a shout and rushed over. He rummaged through Evel’s pocket and found a syringe filled with liquid. He immediately injected it into Evel’s body. Evel slowly stopped twitching, but her face was still extremely pale. She opened her eyes, saw John, and started crying fearfully again.
