  The End of Officer Tom

One day, Tom received a call from his unit, asking him to take Max back to the police station because there was something important. When Tom rushed back to the station in a hurry, he learned that the newly – built police museum needed a police dog specimen. To ensure the specimen’s authenticity, it would be made from a live dog. That is to say, the dog would be made into a specimen after being anesthetized. Naturally, that dog was Max!

After hearing this, Tom was completely stunned. His many years of experience in the police force made him clearly know that the order was irresistible. He couldn’t say a word and just stood there with a blank look in his eyes. At this time, the leader came down to inspect the dog in person. He squinted his eyes and admired Max led by Tom, saying “good” again and again. And Max seemed to understand what they had just said. It bared its teeth and barked furiously at the leader, struggling to pounce forward. Seeing his beloved police dog so indignant, Tom finally came to his senses. He held Max back with all his might and roared at the leader: “No! I’ll keep it for the rest of its life. No one can take it away!”

The leader’s face suddenly darkened, but he ignored Tom’s hysteria. He looked at Max. Suddenly, as if he had discovered something, he turned to Tom’s superior and asked: “What’s wrong with this broken tooth? We want to show the might of the police dog this time, so this broken tooth must be filled. Otherwise, it will affect the beauty of the specimen! Also, you should do a good job on your subordinates and consider the overall situation!”

Tom’s superior nodded repeatedly after hearing the leader’s words, saying “Okay” and “Okay”. Then the leader left with his secretary.

Tom’s superior said helplessly: “Tom, this is the order from above. I have no other way. Feed the dog some good food later and take it there… Well, well, there isn’t much time left. Spend more time with it!”

Tears welled up in Tom’s eyes instantly. He slowly squatted down, hugged Max’s head, and called out softly: “I’m sorry for you. I shouldn’t have brought you here…” Max also made a “whining” sound in its throat, as if it was crying…
