It has nothing to do with money. chapter 1
by Johnny DavidSarah is a junior clerk at a local savings bank in New York. A few days ago, the bank raised the deposit interest rate by 0.27 percentage points. Those retired old folks all came out. Some transferred their previous certificates of deposit, and some brought the little spare money at home to open new accounts.
One day, Sarah had been busy for a whole morning. She looked at her watch: it was 12:40. It was time to have lunch. Just as she was about to stand up, unfortunately, an old man in a plain – cloth suit and full of wrinkles walked in. The old man walked to the window, reached out and handed in a certificate of deposit that had only been deposited for a few days, saying that he wanted to change it to a three – month fixed – term deposit with automatic renewal. Sarah looked up and got angry all of a sudden. The amount on the certificate of deposit was only $500! She thought to herself: Is it really worth it to transfer such a small amount of money? Isn’t this just a waste of time? Although she was extremely reluctant, she still quickly handled the business.
