Into the Lion’s Den chapter 1
by Susan KentThis is a story that sounds a bit absurd. Harmonyville is a small town in the United States with beautiful scenery, like a paradise on earth. Since it was developed into a tourist area, many nearby villagers have come to the town to open restaurants and shops. However, not long after, the business couldn’t be sustained.
There was a hooligan in the town named Tom. Tom’s brother was the deputy mayor. Relying on his brother’s influence, Tom led a group of hooligans to pubs and shops every day, eating and drinking for free and taking things by force. The shop owners were really terrified at the mere sight of Tom! Many shop owners were so disheartened that they simply closed their shops and went back to their farms. In an instant, more than half of the shops in the town were empty.
At this time, there was a man named Jack who boldly opened a hotel, and it was quite grand! Jack was also a local villager. He had been working in the South for several years, working hard and saving a little money. But no one knew why he came back to open a shop at such a risky time. The neighbors advised him, “Why throw your money away?” Jack said, “Working outside is also hard. Let’s see how it goes when I’m back.”
