“In this way, the witness is dead, someone takes the blame, and the case can be closed. As for the stolen money, since the criminal is dead, no one will know where he hid it, and we can enjoy this money in peace.”

“Great idea!”

The two immediately agreed on this plan. They were going to return to the police station right away to implement this flawless plan.

They first took the money back to their homes and then quickly returned to the police station.

Then they brought Jack to the interrogation room. But Jack sat there silently, like a clay idol. Hill walked over and shouted, “It’s no use denying it! Tom has identified you. He saw you running away from the path in front of his house after the robbery the night before last.”

As soon as Jack heard this, he flew into a rage and roared, “That son – of – a – bitch Tom! I’ll skin him alive!”

Seeing that the effect was achieved, Phil and Hill turned around and left the interrogation room. As they left, the key to the handcuffs accidentally fell out of Phil’s trouser pocket.

Everything was going smoothly according to the plan. The next step was to bring Tom to the interrogation room, which was like hell for him.

They found Tom near the beverage vending machine. As expected, the timid Tom was obediently waiting at the police station. Hill stepped forward, patted Tom on the shoulder, and said, “We really found the evidence at the place you mentioned. It’s all thanks to you!” Tom grinned stupidly when he heard this.

“What an idiot,” Phil thought, and then said, “It’s so hot here. I’ll take you to a cooler place.”

So the three of them walked towards the interrogation room. When they were almost at the door, Phil said, “This is it.” Just as they were about to enter, someone called out to them from behind. They turned around and saw three men in police uniforms. The one in front was actually Chief Hansen.

“Strange. Isn’t the chief at a meeting?” Phil was puzzled.

Phil and Hill immediately stood at attention and saluted Chief Hansen. Tom also greeted the chief, “Hello, Chief Hansen.” Then he turned and entered the interrogation room.

Hill was even more confused: “How does Tom know Chief Hansen?”

While Phil and Hill were still stunned by this sudden change, two detectives behind the chief suddenly rushed forward and handcuffed them. Phil and Hill immediately protested loudly, “Chief, what are you doing!”

Chief Hansen sneered, “Arresting the criminals in the bank armored car robbery case!”

When Phil heard this, he shouted that he was wronged: “No, Chief, you’ve made a mistake. The criminal is Jack.”

“Don’t deny it. $1.5 million in cash has been found in your homes. The serial numbers of the money match those of the stolen money. Moreover, there are your fingerprints on the money.”

“We found out the clue and dug out the money to close the case as soon as possible. There must be Jack’s fingerprints on it too.”

“If you dug out the money to close the case, then why was the money found in your homes? And there are no fingerprints of a third person on the money except yours.”

“He must have wiped off his fingerprints… Chief, you have to believe us.”

“Humph!” the chief sneered. “Tom has identified that it was you two he saw running away and burying the money the night before last.”

“He’s lying! When we asked him, he clearly said he didn’t see anyone.”

“Of course he didn’t dare to tell the truth when you two asked him. That’s why he called me. Also, we’ve analyzed the bullet that killed the money escort, and it’s the same type as the ones you use. After you robbed the money, you buried it in the muddy ground by the river and then looked for a chance to retrieve it. Who would have thought you’d be so bold as to drive a police car to dig for the money and leave a mess of footprints there.”

Phil and Hill wanted to say something more, but they couldn’t say a word. They were taken away…

More than a month later, Tom was in his lonely house, turning up the music to the maximum. “Ha, I’ve never been this happy. Those two bastards have been humiliating and bullying me since childhood, trampling on my self – esteem. They didn’t even let me go after they came back from the army. I’ve always lived in their shadow. Now they’re finally paying the price.” Tom said proudly.

Jack was sitting opposite Tom. “Boss, it’s a pity we lost the $1.5 million this time.”

Tom smiled. In his opinion, there was nothing more satisfying than getting rid of Phil and Hill and avenging the long – standing grudge!
