In Smithville, relentless heavy rain has thrown the village into chaos, leaving village head Jack swamped with urgent matters. One fateful afternoon, just as he’s about to report the dire situation to the town, Mayor Johnson calls, ordering him to rush to the town immediately as County Commissioner Brown is there. Jack’s mind races with possibilities – could it be condolences for the flood or the long – awaited poverty – alleviation funds?
