The Place of Love chapter 2

Amy couldn’t fall asleep. She didn’t know how many years her brother would be sentenced to and whether he could still go to school in the future. She thought of Officer Tom. Tom was an honest and righteous man. Just the fact that he helped her get back the $70,000 she was cheated out of was worth repaying. She suddenly saw Tom’s true colors. Before they caught her brother and recovered all the stolen money, he was so kind and friendly to her. Officer Tom brought a gift for Jack: undergraduate textbooks for the computer science major in college. Officer Tom said to Jack earnestly, “It’s not terrible for a young man to stumble.
