The manager looked at Tom in great confusion. Tom stared blankly ahead, his lips moving as he kept muttering, “How could this happen? No one should die now. No one should die now!”

The manager asked, “Tom, what do you mean? Why can’t I call the police?” Tom said expressionlessly, “Manager, I’ve reached the end of the road today. I’m too ashamed to face my father in the afterlife.” The manager found Tom’s words so confusing that he shouted angrily, “Tom, what are you messing around for? What on earth is going on?”

Tom shouted hoarsely, “Since this young man has died, I’ll give my old life for him!” Then he pushed through the on – looking spectators and slammed his head into a pillar.

No one expected Tom to act so rashly. Everyone stood there, stunned and not knowing what to do. Just then, the “dead” young man on the ground suddenly flipped over and jumped up. He grabbed Tom and said, “I’m not dead, and you can’t die either!”

Tom turned his head in horror and stared fixedly at the young man who had come back to life, then at the manager, who was smiling and nodding at him.

The manager loudly apologized to the audience and told the projectionist to continue the movie. But the audience no longer wanted to watch. They all demanded an explanation for what had just happened. Seeing this situation, the manager said, “This young man is a new staff member at the city archives. He was very curious about the series of mysterious deaths in Seat 18 in our cinema over the decades and wanted to explore the secret. He convinced me to sell him the ticket for Seat 18, which led to this misunderstanding.”

Tom, who was standing beside them, excitedly interrupted the manager and said, “This is no misunderstanding! Anyone who sits in Seat 18 might die!”
