The Legend of Vampires chapter 3
by Kelly Evans PhDSome timid tourists let out screams, but Lucy excitedly said, “This tour group is so much fun. Let’s join it.” Without waiting for Beckon’s consent, Lucy raised her hand and asked the tour guide.
The tour guide immediately agreed. Then, a deep voice came from behind, “I also want to join this tour group. It’s so interesting.” Beckon thought the voice sounded familiar. When he turned around, it was the wandering artist, Jason.
After getting the room cards from the tour group, Beckon and Lucy checked into a room. Just five minutes after entering the room, the chandelier flickered and suddenly went out. The room was plunged into darkness. Just as Beckon was about to curse, he heard a shrill scream from the corridor outside. He opened the door to see what was going on, and then the light suddenly came back on for no reason. Beckon walked out into the corridor and saw a room not far away with the door open. A person was lying on the ground, with his legs sticking out of the room.
More people gathered in the corridor. Several people and Beckon walked to the room. When they saw who was lying there, they were terrified. It was the wandering artist, Jason. His face was bloodless, and there were two blood holes in his neck artery. A tourist shouted, “The soul of Count Dracula is back!” His voice was full of fear.
Seeing this, Beckon’s scalp tingled and sweat broke out on his back.
Just then, the chandelier in the corridor flickered again, making a “hissing” sound of alternating current. In an instant, the corridor was completely dark. Everyone panicked and screamed. The darkness lasted for five minutes. When the light came back on, Beckon and the other tourists found a person lying at the end of the corridor, with his head tilted and motionless.
Beckon summoned up his courage and walked to the person. He found it was the tour guide. His face was pale and he was dead. There were also two deep blood holes in his carotid artery.
“It’s Count Dracula… His soul is looking for a substitute…” The tourist who had screamed before shouted hysterically again. After the hotel manager came over, he regretfully told everyone that the telephone line had been cut off and there was no mobile phone signal in this remote place, so the police couldn’t be notified immediately. The manager suggested that all the tourists go back to their rooms, lock the doors tightly and shout for help if there was any accident.
