Escape like a cicada sloughing its skin chapter 2
by James HatfieldGina secretly laughed to herself. Old Budi had fallen into her trap. In fact, the letter stated that the government was going to cover the cost of old Budi’s treatment and apologized for the long delay in replying. But when reading the letter, Gina suddenly came up with a plan to use old Budi to escape. Then, Gina pretended to comfort old Budi, saying a lot of soothing words and scolding the government for being heartless. Then she changed the subject and whispered in old Budi’s ear, “I can help you cure your eyes.” Old Budi wiped away his tears and stared blankly at Gina, seemingly not understanding what she meant. So, Gina repeated herself, “I can pay for your eye treatment. Before I came here, I inherited a large fortune, but in this damned place, I can’t use it at all. Budi, now we can only help each other.”
