Tom was very puzzled. The city chemical plant was located in the western suburbs. The fire had occurred just 40 minutes ago. It was impossible for an ordinary citizen to know about it so quickly. The newspaper had only received the news 20 minutes ago, and the reporters sent there might still be on the way. But this unremarkable middle – aged man claimed to have brought photos!

At Tom’s repeated requests, Jack slowly took out a digital camera from his bag. When Tom saw the photos, he was stunned. My God! They were really photos of the scene of the city chemical plant fire! These photos were of great news value. Many reporters traveled around, dreaming of getting such a hot item.

So, Tom immediately reported the situation to the department head, and the department head reported it to the editor – in – chief. Just like that, “The New City Times” got the heavy – weight news material effortlessly. These photos earned Jack $500 as a news tip – off fee and brought huge economic benefits to the newspaper. That day, the newspaper sold like hotcakes!

The second news that Jack provided was a photo taken a month later. It was a car accident that happened early in the morning on the railway in the northern part of the city. A car stalled when crossing the tracks and was smashed by a speeding train on the spot. The scene was horrible. What was even more strange was that the photo captured the exact moment when the train head hit the car, and even the glass shards were clearly photographed. Even the old photographers in the newspaper were full of admiration. This photo caused another sensation. The hotline of “The New City Times” was almost jammed. The newspaper stand owners were the happiest. A stack of newspapers was snapped up in just a few minutes.

Jack asked for $5,000 for this photo. The editor – in – chief of “The New City Times” didn’t hesitate and immediately signed the check. After signing, the editor – in – chief asked kindly, “Mr. Jack, would you like to work for our newspaper? We need talents like you. Just tell us your requirements.” Jack said he needed to think about it.

One night, Jack was sleeping soundly when he suddenly heard a noise by his window. Just as he was about to shout, several masked men dropped in from the sky. A fat guy grabbed his neck and stuffed a smelly sock into his mouth. They quickly tied him up tightly. Then they rummaged through the house but found nothing. The fat guy slapped Jack hard and they left angrily. Jack knew very well that because he could always arrive at the scene of an incident in the first place, many people were suspicious and guessed that there might be some treasure in his house, so they came to look for it!

The masked men didn’t know that the “treasure” was actually under a stack of magazines on the table. They were several newspapers with the title “The Morning News of Tomorrow”. Yes, this was a “tomorrow” newspaper. It looked no different from an ordinary newspaper, but the content inside was both amazing and terrifying. All the major events that would happen in the city the next day were on this newspaper!

The origin of this newspaper was very strange. During that period, Jack had just lost his job and was in a bad mood. One night, he drank half a bottle of whiskey and wandered on the street. When he was tired, he wanted to lean on a public phone booth to rest. It was exactly midnight. Jack suddenly heard a slight “buzzing” sound from the phone in the booth. After careful listening, he realized it was the theme song of “Star Wars”. He thought it was an illusion and was about to leave when he was suddenly pushed by a gust of wind. In a daze, he entered a narrow metal room. He saw a strange display on the wall with green lights flashing constantly, as if asking him to enter a password. He casually entered his mobile phone number. After a while, the music from “Star Wars” faded away. He never dreamed that he had accidentally entered the “Zero – point Gate”. You know, the probability of entering the time – space tunnel, which was in a drifting state, was one in a billion!

After Jack came to his senses, he found himself still standing on the street. He was in a daze for a long time and then staggered home.

Then something very strange happened. One night, seven days later, Jack was watching TV at home when his phone suddenly vibrated, and the theme song of “Star Wars” played. Then, something flew in through the window at an amazing speed, so fast that it was hard to see with the naked eye. When it landed on the ground, Jack found it was a newspaper. From then on, Jack received “The Morning News of Tomorrow” every night at 9:30. He knew all the major events that would happen in the city the next day, such as fires, car accidents, homicides, and robberies. Naturally, he could arrive at the scene in the first place to take photos.
