A Gold Ring Popped Out of the Cave

In the late 19th – century America, a drifter named Jack wandered to a small town near the Colorado River in Arizona. He set up a makeshift shelter in a grove of trees on the east side of the town and made a living by doing odd jobs like pulling small boats along the river. He kept to himself, and since he had an out – of – town accent, the locals simply called him “the drifter”.

One day, while Jack was pulling a small boat alone along the river, he reached a place called Eagle Rock. Suddenly, a bird flew out of a cave on the mountain, carrying something in its beak. With a “clank”, a shiny yellow object fell from the bird’s mouth and landed right in front of Jack. He picked it up and found it was a gold ring. He bit it, and since it was soft, he knew it was real gold. He quickly slipped it into his pocket.
