Happy holidays, Mom! chapter 3
by Sergio BrewerThe Gift
Early on Mother’s Day, Amy left quietly after leaving a note. She said she was grateful to her sisters, but her mom didn’t need these things. Her home was in a remote area with bad roads, so they didn’t need to go.
The girls in the dorm were a bit disappointed after reading the note. After a discussion, they decided to go anyway. They knew the address, and they could also enjoy the rural scenery on the way.
They set off right away. They quickly got on the bus, got off at the town where Amy’s home was located, and then walked several miles on the dirt road. The girls chatted and laughed all the way. Suddenly, a girl pointed forward and said, “Hey, isn’t that Amy?” They looked and saw a new grave in a wheat field not far ahead. A girl was lying on the grave, crying. Her figure was very much like Amy’s.
They quickly rushed over and saw Amy placing a brand – new tube of hand cream on the grave. She was crying and saying, “Mom, use this hand cream, and your hands won’t crack in the cold…”
In an instant, everyone stood there, stunned. After what seemed like a long time, the girls softly said in unison, “Mom, Happy Mother’s Day!”
