Paying Attention to Propriety chapter 3
by Sara JamesEmily asked, “Where was Uncle injured?”
Tracy said, “Both of his legs were blown off, and he only has one arm left.”
The dormitory suddenly fell silent, and there were tears in the sisters’ eyes. A man with only one arm, curled up on the kang, and it wasn’t just shelling, but pinching, one by one, and another one…
Jenny lost her comedian – like humor. She said hoarsely, “Tracy, you shouldn’t have let Uncle… be so particular…”
Tracy murmured, “I wrote a letter home and told the story of our dormitory. My dad said that other people’s daughters are the apples of their parents’ eyes, and our daughter is also our precious one…”
That night, the talkative and laughing sisters stopped talking. The dormitory was quiet, and the burnt fragrance of sunflower seeds lingered for a long time.
It was very late at night when Linda finally said in the dark, “I’m the eldest sister. I have a suggestion. From now on, let’s not let our parents be so particular for us anymore, okay?”
