Paying Attention to Propriety chapter 1

When the freshmen entered the university, eight girls moved into Room 302. That night, after everyone reported their birthdays, they were ranked from the eldest sister to the eighth sister, even though they were all of the same age.

Not long after, the father of the eldest sister, Linda, came to see his daughter and brought in a fruit box. When opened, there were sixteen huge and bright red apples on the table. Each apple weighed about half a pound and was extremely uniform in size. Linda quickly arranged the apples in a row and let everyone take a look. The other sisters were so amazed that they couldn’t close their eyes. It turned out that there was a character on each apple, which together read: “If the eight of you unite tightly, let’s see what the world can do to you!” Then they burst into laughter, and the laughter of the eight sisters could be heard throughout the building.
