The End of the World chapter 1

This remote and underdeveloped small town is a blind spot on the map. The only connection between the town and the outside world is a water pipe that supplies tap water to the town from an unknown source. Apart from that, the town is completely isolated from the rest of the world. The people in the town cherish this water pipe very much and everyone pays attention to saving water.

One day, a foreigner unexpectedly came to the town. No one knew where he was from. This young man named Danny bought a house by himself and settled down. He could speak English and quickly got along well with the townspeople.

Although Danny was usually very talkative and cheerful, whenever someone asked him the reason for coming to the town to settle down, he would always look strange and avoid answering. Once, a young man asked Danny, “Danny, our place is so poor and backward. The whole town depends on this small water pipe for survival. Why did you still come here?” Danny was like being struck by lightning. His face immediately turned pale and his lips turned blue. Then he mumbled some vague words and walked away. Seeing that he didn’t want to talk, the townspeople didn’t ask him anymore.

One day, Danny was chatting with the townspeople under a big tree. The water station manager walked over and posted a piece of paper on the bulletin board beside the tree. People immediately gathered around to find out what it was. It was a water outage notice:
