The Son of a Farmer chapter 1
by Terry MoonThere are three outstanding boys in Class 2, Grade 10 of Lincoln High School in California. One is named Jack, one is named Tom, and the other is named David.
There are several reasons for their outstandingness. First, they all have excellent academic performance. Second, they are all very tall. Thirdly, and most notably, their fathers all have significant backgrounds. Jack’s father is the director of the local power supply company, Tom’s father is the president of a well – known local bank, and David’s father, although not an official, is the owner of the largest lumber company in the county. In the lumber business, he is a very influential figure. Because of this, these three boys have a particularly arrogant sense of superiority among their classmates.
