Replace the hostage with a blind person chapter 2
by Dominique PatrickJohn was almost furious. When he planned the kidnapping, he knew Evel was in poor health, but he didn’t expect the little girl to have such a strange disease that could kill her at any time. He told Jones to comfort Evel well and then quickly went to check the computer. Smith had sent a second email: “Six million dollars is no problem, but it’s difficult to get old – fashioned banknotes. I need time to collect them. However, I’m worried about my daughter’s illness. Please promise me to exchange me for my daughter. You can rest assured that I definitely won’t dare to call the police. You can decide how to conduct the exchange. That injection can only save my daughter once, and she needs a doctor more. Please, I’m begging you.”
### Exchanging Son for Daughter
John quickly racked his brains. He knew Smith was telling the truth. It would take time to get such a large amount of old – fashioned banknotes, and if Evel died during this period, he would get nothing. But exchange for the shrewd Smith? He didn’t dare. Suddenly, he thought of George, the son Smith had just picked up. He knew George was blind, and in Smith’s heart, this blind son might be even more important. He immediately replied to the email: “Raise the money for us as soon as possible. You can exchange your son for your daughter. Follow my instructions.”
After a while, Smith replied that he agreed. This time, it was John’s turn to hesitate. Was it a trap to exchange hostages during the kidnapping? If Smith called the police and used the opportunity of the hostage exchange to arrest them, the danger would be great. John thought carefully for a long time. Finally, he concluded that Smith wouldn’t dare to risk his daughter’s life. Six million dollars was not a big deal for him. If Evel died because of this, he wouldn’t be able to live on either. Thinking of this, he sent another email: “I must get your son first, and then I’ll return Evel to you. There’s no room for negotiation. If you don’t agree, I won’t take the six million dollars. Just wait to collect your daughter’s body.”
Smith agreed without hesitation. John sent Jones to pick up George by car and used a pre – arranged untraceable mobile phone to contact Smith. He himself followed behind Jones. After changing locations several times, John was sure that Smith hadn’t called the police and there were no policemen following them. Then he ordered Jones to take action. Jones directed Smith to an empty place, told George to get out of the car, and let Smith leave. Then Jones drove to George, grabbed him and pulled him into the car. After driving around in circles and searching George, there was nothing suspicious on him. But Jones still ordered him to change all his clothes before taking him back to their hiding place.
John had worked under Smith for two years, but he had never seen George. However, he had seen George’s photo on Smith’s desk countless times. Now, seventeen – year – old George was taller and stronger than the boy in the photo three years ago. His eyes were deeply sunken – no matter how advanced the medical technology was or how rich his father was, they couldn’t give him a new pair of eyes. He kept shaking his head and muttering to himself, as if he was praying. John gently tapped George’s head with a baseball bat and said viciously, “Do you know what this is? It’s a baseball bat. If you behave yourself here, you’ll be fine. If you dare to do anything, I’ll beat you to death with this bat.”
George showed uncontrollable fear on his face and stammered, “I won’t run away. I’m blind and can’t run anyway. You can rest assured. My father said he’ll give you the money as soon as possible.”
John burst into laughter. The state of his enemy’s son made him extremely happy. He leaned the baseball bat against the wall, helped George sit on a chair, and handcuffed his hands behind his back. Then he let out a long sigh and ordered Gurita to leave Evel on the street and then inform Smith to pick her up.
By the next evening, Smith sent an email saying that the money was ready, but he wanted to hear George’s voice to make sure he was still alive. So John called Smith and let George report that he was safe. Smith was relieved.
